When a few months earlier on his 21st birthday Andrea had "come out gay" to his parents, he found himself banished from his home, fired from his job; as Christmas approached and the snow began to fall he was homeless on the streets of London's West end. Andrea is cold, scared and very hungry.
His saviour comes in the unlikely form of Alex, a rich middle aged Socialite returning to his hotel from the theatre. For Alex, life was almost perfect - he'd worked hard to overcome his rather murky past , he enjoyed his life mingling with the rich and famous and had hardly noticed thrusting a few notes into the girls hands.
But as the snowstorm descends, Alex who is a man who trusts his instincts, and his gut tells him to give this young girl shelter for the night.
It's Christmas! and his suite of rooms was more than big enough. Alex's only concern is to make sure none of his friends ever see this urchin, before he can be rid of her in the morning.
Andrea comes out of the shower, to find that neither is what the other expected. Alex has the first of the many surprises. Andrea is very clearly not a girl but a young man and a very cheeky one. As Andrea and Alex's friendship grows, their connection is deep, instant, and one that Alex desperately tries to ignore. Alex never thought of himself as gay. Frightened years ago by an erotic encounter with his best friend.
Andrea realises that one lingering touch, one stolen kiss could send the older man into full retreat. Where Andrea might have quickly moved on to a more ready-and-willing partner, he unexpectedly finds himself wanting to go slow as his real emotions begin to reveal themselves. With just a little coaxing, he’s sure he can show Alex how good it could be between them.
The snow storm outside brings out hidden passions and unleashes a chain of events neither of them expected - and eventually brings about events that threaten to destroy them and what Andrea works to create. Strong wills and forceful personalities make for intense encounters... but is it enough to keep love alive? Yet there friendship grows into a journey that must cross a divide of different generations, backgrounds and worlds. The prize is the one thing neither is sure he can handle—true love.
